Gymnastics Put Sixth in GEC Preseason Poll
Purple Knights to begin their campaign with a tri-meet at Cornell (with Yale) on Jan. 12.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – With their new campaign set to officially begin in early January, the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team was picked to finish sixth in the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) according to the preseason coaches poll released on Wednesday. Penn, which won the GEC last year, was selected as the conference favorites for the fourth straight year.
The Purple Knights, who finished with a team NQS of 193.720 last year, will be one of the more experienced teams in the GEC this season. In fact, UB returns a total of 23 student-athletes from 2023-24 which includes a group of six that earned All-GEC honors.
Bridgeport's newest roster also features a total of 20 upperclassmen and a pair of WCGA All-Americans in juniors Lola Sepulveda and Abigail Kenney.
