Fitness Center
Come burn off those calories with a great workout in our brand new Fitness Center space on any one of our pieces of cardio equipment. (Treadmills, Ellipticals, Stair Climber, stationary bikes, & rowers)
Pump some iron with our state of the art strength machines and free weights. We offer the following strength machines: which include shoulder press, chest press, fly/dept machine, bicep curl, leg extension, leg press, hamstring extension, seated row, leg curl, lat pull-down, bench press, cable motion dual adjustable pulley, & a multipurpose benches and squat racks Also, a part of our weight room: are fitness bars, medicine balls, stability balls, & dumbbells ranging from 5lbs to 75lbs).
Fitness Studio 1
Studio 1 is the home to most of our UB fitness and wellness classes including yoga, meditation, Spin, HIIT and other group fitness activities. Studio 1 is also open daily for stretching, core work, Escape workouts, dumbbells, stretching equipment and Echelon Studio workouts. Echelon gives our visitors access to thousands of workouts like spin, yoga, pilates, and full-body which are shown on a 66’’ TV screen.
Fitness Studio 2
Our old weight room was converted into a multi-purpose space with battle ropes, heavy bag, weight plates, dumbbells, stretching equipment and jump ropes, Students can use this space throughout the day for their workout needs.
Aquatics Center
The UB Pool was re-added to the UB Campus Rec fitness/wellness offerings and has made a big splash! (yup) The renovated six-lane UB Aquatics Center is open for "Lunchtime Laps" Monday-Friday from 11a-230p for our current students, staff and faculty. The facility also has a Steam Room for usage.
The Alley- UB Bowling Alley
The UB Bowling Center opened in 2019 and is located in the John J. Cox Student Center. It is a state of the art bowling alley with eight (8) lanes. The facility is open in the evenings for students to play. UB Campus Rec will host tournaments and events in the facility throughout the academic year. Student Clubs and Organizations can book the space for fundraisers, team building, etc by contacting David Graham at dagraham@bridgeport.edu
“The Alley” hours of operation for Fall & Spring semesters - Tuesday-Saturday (630pm-10pm)
ESports Lounge
- Opened state-of-the-art E-Sports Lounge in March 2024
- The space has 24 computer play stations with headsets, keyboards and gaming equipment.
- The E-Sports Lounge will have “open play” hours for current UB students starting this Fall 2024. Hours will be posted in August.
- We also started our UB E-Sports Club Team in 2022. Our program competes in team and individual competitions vs other colleges and universities across the country. The UB has several teams represented in various games.
