BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing their final home game of the regular season, the University of Bridgeport's men's soccer team dropped a 6-1 contest to Wilmington on Saturday. The Senior Day defeat moves the Purple Knights' record to 7-6-3 overall and 6-3-1 in the CACC.
Bridgeport's lone goal of the game, which at the time put the score at 2-1, was scored by Joao Miranda in the 60th minute.
Miranda cleverly took a free kick quickly from about 45 yards out and drilled it over a late-reacting Wilmington goalkeeper. Miranda now has 14 points this season off four goals and six assists.
For the Wildcats, Theo Faillon led the way by scoring half of their goals. He is now tied for the most tallies in the country this season with 20.
