Brian Quinn enters his twelfth season as the head coach of the UB men's soccer program in 2011.  In his first 11 seasons on the Bridgeport sidelines, coach Quinn has compiled a 109-76-20 record.

Along with notching his 100th career victory last season, UB went 11-6-2 overall and made its eighth straight conference tournament appearance advancing to the ECC Finals.

In 2009, the Purple Knights posted a 10-5-3 overall record.

Three seasons ago was a campaign filled with highlights for Quinn and his team.  The 2007 campaign started with a special weekend in August with wins over two teams ranked in the preseason national Top-10, one of which would go on to win the NCAA Division II National Title, ended with the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights men’s soccer team earning the program’s twentieth trip to the NCAA National Championship Tournament, and the school’s first appearance in the national championship field since 1991.

In 2003, Bridgeport captured its second-straight ECAC championship at the top-seeded Purple Knights defeated a tough Goldey Beacom team by a 2-1 final in double overtime at Seaside Park.  In 2002, his squad posted an 11-8-2 record and won its' first ever ECAC championship, defeating Southampton in a shootout.  The team finished the year ranked eighth in the Northeast region. In 2001, he coached the Purple Knights to a New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (NYCAC) co-championship with a record of 13-5-2 and led them to an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) final, ending the season ranked second in the Northeast region.  The team ended the season ranked 23rd in the season-ending NSCAA Division II national poll.

Quinn was a member of the NCAA Division II soccer committee and chairman of the Northeast Regional Committee from 2001-2005, and he served as national Division II men's soccer chair in 2004.  Brian came to UB after spending 12 seasons as the assistant coach at two highly successful programs.  He served as an assistant at Southern Connecticut State University from 1987-1995 working under coaching legends Bob Dikranian and current UConn head coach Ray Reid.  During that time, he was a part of three national championship teams at Southern Connecticut (1987, 1990, 1992).  From 1995-2000, Quinn was an assistant coach at Boston University (BU) under Neil Roberts.  The BU team qualified for three NCAA Tournaments during his tenure (1995-1997).  From 1990-1993, Quinn also served as the Director of Boys Olympic Development Program with the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association and Administrator of Football at the 1995 Special Olympic World Games in New Haven, CT.  Coach Quinn holds a USSF "A" License and the NSCAA Premier Diploma.  He is also a member of National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the United States Coaches Association and the KNVB Advanced Coaching Seminar.  He currently is Director of Coaching for the South Central Premier Soccer Club.  Quinn personally coaches the U-16 Boys team which is participating in US Soccer's newly-formed Development Academy.

A 1986 graduate of Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, he received his Master's Degree in Physical Education from his alma mater in 1994.  Quinn, who ran the 1999 & 2000 Boston Marathons, resides in Meriden, CT, with his wife Lisa and their two children, Aidan and Aislinn.     

Pete Doneit enters his tenth season as assistant coach of the UB Purple Knights.  Doneit also works with the teams’ goalkeepers and assists Coach Quinn with the everyday operations of the team.  Since his arrival at UB Doneit has helped the UB men to two ECAC championships, a NYCAC championship and a 2007 bid to the NCAA tournament.

A USSF  “B” license coach, Doneit was named the 2009 Connecticut Junior Soccer Association Coach of the Year as well as the 2010 USYSA Region I Coach of the Year with his work with the Beachside of Connecticut youth soccer program.  Pete has led five Beachside teams to state Championships and recently led his U16 team to the Finals of the Region I Championships.  In addition, Pete is the head coach of the Beachside Super 20 team that recently made it to the semi-finals of the USL National Finals in Rockford Illinois. 

After a four-year career at Division I Hartwick College, Doneit had a stint in South Africa with Cape Town Spurs and Witswatersrand and spent time in the USISL and Pro Select League in the United States with the Grand Rapids Explosion, Lansing Locomotive and Westchester Flames.
