PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Following a little time off this week, the University of Bridgeport's men's soccer team went on the road on Saturday and earned a 2-1 win at Holy Family. The victory puts the Purple Knights' record at 5-4-2 this season, including a mark of 4-2 in the CACC.
UB had to be on the comeback trail against Holy Family after the home squad gained a 1-0 in the 22nd minute. HFU's lone tally was registered by Gavin Rowan.
Bridgeport evened things up in the 31st minute courtesy of Alex Tan's first goal of the season. Tan put the finishing touches on a nice find by Lapo Romieri.
Speaking of Romieri, he also scored the game-winner for Bridgeport just seconds into the second half. The native of Italy stole a pass in the Tigers' box before burying the game's third goal.
Romieri, who leads the team in total offense (6G, 3A) this season, has registered multiple points in five of UB's last eight games.
Defensively, Gianny Provincial earned his third win in net this season. The French goalkeeper ended up with five saves across a full 90 minutes.
