LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Beginning a stretch of four consecutive conference games, the University of Bridgeport's men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 contest at Georgian Court on Saturday. The defeat moves the Purple Knights' record to 4-4-2 this season (3-2, CACC).
The Lions scored a goal in each half, taking a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute before adding another one in the 60th. Georgian Court's goals were tallied by Maurice Engl and Gijs van Eif.
Bridgeport was unable to capitalize on statistical advantages in both shots on goal (9-4) and corner-kick opportunities (9-4).
Georgian Court goalkeeper Ayendi Batista had to make nine stops to keep a clean sheet.
On the other side, UB's goalkeeper Gianny Provincial registered two saves in a complete-game effort.
