ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Playing their first conference opponent of the season, the University of Bridgeport's men's soccer team rattled off a 4-0 win at Dominican on Wednesday. The victory pushes the Purple Knights' record to 2-1-2 this fall, including 1-0 in the CACC.
UB, now unbeaten since Sept. 5, has conceded just four goals all season. The Purple Knights' lone loss is at top-ranked Franklin Pierce.
Bridgeport's offense, which has now scored seven goals over the last two games, was highlighted by four different goal-scorers.
It was a quick start for the Purple Knights as they scored their first goal in the third minute. Lapo Romieri found the back of the net off a nice cross from Enzo Beatrix.
Speaking of Beatrix, he tallied UB's second goal in the 58th minute. He is now leading Bridgeport with six points this season off two goals and two assists.
It was another pair of Frenchmen that recorded the Purple Knights' final goals of the afternoon. Ewen Le Cozic was first with his second tally of the year off an assist from Shon Ryan.
UB's onslaught was capped in the 79th minute when Ugo Drieu found the back of the net. He was aided on the play by John Louis, who picked up his second assist of the year.
Defensively, it was Bridgeport's second clean sheet of the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Hugo Franceschi earned the win, finishing the game with five saves.
Cooper Robertson also saw action in net for UB across the final 13:35 of regulation.
