WEST HAVEN, Conn. – In another gritty, strong-willed contest against an NE10 opponent, the University of Bridgeport's men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw at the University of New Haven on Wednesday night. The Purple Knights are now 0-1-2 to begin the 2024 season.
Gianny Provincial provided UB's first clean sheet of the year in a full 90-minute effort in net. The graduate keeper maintained a scoreless contest with several crucial, quick-acting saves. He finished with five total stops in the game—four of which came in the first half.
UB's defense posted a scoreless performance against a UNH team that scored nine goals in their first two games of the season. The Chargers are now 2-0-1 to open the year, having already defeated Holy Family (4-0) and Dominican (5-0).
Offensively, Bridgeport registered a 4-3 margin in corner kicks while putting one shot on target that was saved by UNH goalkeeper Archie Watts.
