Cross Country Teams Compete at Rainy Codfish Bowl
Purple Knights posted NCAA team finishes of fourth on the women’s side and fifth for the men.
BOSTON, Mass. – Competing in pouring rain and slippery conditions, the University of Bridgeport's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 56th Annual Codfish Bowl on Saturday in Boston, Mass. The Purple Knights posted NCAA team finishes of fourth on the women's side and fifth for the men.

The Purple Knights were led by the duo of freshman Stephanie Lickteig and junior Julia Fortune.
Lickteig put together a 19th-place finish in a time of 23:59 while Fortune registered a mark of 24:52 to place 22nd.
UB's third scorer was one of its sophomores, Lynzie Lawton. The New York native tallied a 23rd-place finish in a time of 28:49.
Aubrey Cindia and Samantha Rodriguez rounded out Bridgeport's finishers on Saturday. Cindia posted a 25th-place effort (31:10) while Rodriguez finished in 26th (33:07).
Men's Recap (8K)
It was once again Edoardo Vandelli piloting the UB attack. The freshman from Italy posted a 17th-place finish with a time of 28:18.
For the third straight meet, it was Matt Torres following his Italian teammate. The sophomore maneuvered a time of 32:29 to place 22nd.
Kyle Hill served as UB's third scorer with a 24th-place (34:22) performance while Denzel Luna finished 27th (37:10) and Antoine Holmes tallied a 28th-place time (38:26).

The Purple Knights will have a couple of weeks off prior to competing at the 12th Annual Bruce Kirsch Cup in Hopkinton, N.H. on Oct. 11.
