Volleyball Swept by Jefferson in CACC Quarterfinals
The loss ends the Purple Knights’ season with a record of 20-10.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing in the quarterfinals of the CACC Tournament, the second-seeded University of Bridgeport volleyball team dropped a three-set match (25-21, 25-20, 25-22) to third-seeded Jefferson on Tuesday night. The loss ends the Purple Knights' season with a record of 20-10.
Hailey Jessen led Bridgeport's offense against the Rams with a team-high 16 kills on a .306 hitting percentage. The sophomore finishes her season ranked second on UB in both kills per set (3.18) and hitting percentage (.225).
Lucia Tomiello also finished in double figures on Tuesday with 11 kills. She wraps up her campaign with the third highest hitting percentage (.350) in the CACC.
Jaden Drollinger, who was named the CACC Setter of the Year earlier today, dished out another 38 assists against Jefferson. She finishes her sensational career with a school record 4,768 assists.
Drollinger finished atop CACC this season in both total assists (1,109) and assists per set (10.17). She also averaged 2.50 digs per set while ranking fourth in the CACC in total aces (57).
Paola Hernandez, who was named the CACC's Player of the Year on Tuesday, finished with seven kills and a team-best 12 digs in the match.
Hernandez finishes her year ranked second in the CACC in kills per set (3.56). She also averaged 2.49 digs per set during a terrific senior season. Hernandez tallied a team-high 12 double-doubles in 2024.
