Volleyball Takes Down Bloomfield, 3-0
The Purple Knights improve their record to 9-6 overall this season and 2-1 in the CACC.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following four straight non-conference matches, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team returned to conference play on Wednesday with a 3-0 win over Bloomfield. The home sweep improves the Purple Knights' record to 9-6 overall this season and 2-1 in the CACC.
Bridgeport's dominance over the Bears was sparked by a balanced attack. In fact, the Purple Knights had six players finish with multiple kills while eight different players recorded at least one service ace.
Speaking of aces, UB totaled a season-high 18 of them with Jaden Drollinger notching a team-high four. Drollinger continues to rank second in the CACC this season in aces per set (0.67).
Drollinger also dished out a match-high 17 assists to go along with six digs. Drollinger leads the conference this season in both total assists (544) and assists per set (9.54).
Offensively, Paola Hernandez and Hailey Jessen each led UB with six kills while Madison Jongsma and Grace Presswood both had four putaways.
On the defensive side of things, Ella Young matched Drollinger with a team-best six digs.
