Volleyball Earns 3-0 Win at Caldwell
Purple Knights improve their record to 5-3 overall, including 1-0 in the CACC.
CALDWELL, N.J. – Putting forth their most dominant effort of the season thus far, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team earned a 3-0 win (25-12, 25-16, 25-13) at Caldwell on Wednesday. The Purple Knights improve their record to 5-3 overall, including 1-0 in the CACC.
UB didn't have many flaws in route to their sixth straight win over the Cougars. The Purple Knights hit a season-high .427 and won each set by at least nine points.
Paola Hernandez, Lucia Tomiello and Hailey Jessen did most of the damage for UB, combining for 26 of Bridgeport's 39 kills. Tomiello, who had nine put-aways, didn't make an error in the match.
Grace Presswood also didn't make an error while finishing with seven kills of her own.
Dishing out the ball was Jaden Drollinger, who registered a match-high 26 assists. She continues to lead the CACC this season in both total assists (288) and assists per set (9.29) this season.
All in all, it was an extremely balanced performance for Bridgeport. A remarkable 14 different players tallied at least one dig, and nine different Purple Knights had at least one kill.
UB also finished the three sets with 10 service aces.
