Volleyball Defeats Kutztown in Four Sets
The victory pushes the Purple Knights’ record to 4-2 this season.
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – In the final contest of a three-match weekend in Pennsylvania, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team earned a 3-1 win (25-23, 25-17, 23-25, 25-17) over Kutztown University on Saturday. The victory pushes the Purple Knights' record to 4-2 this season.
It was a balanced attack that piloted the UB offense versus the Bears. Three Purple Knights recorded double-figure kills and another finished with nine (Hailey Jessen) across the four sets.
Paola Hernandez and Grace Presswood each led Bridgeport with 11 putaways. Presswood also finished with 13 digs to pick up her second double-double of the year.
Speaking of digs, Jaden Drollinger racked up a team-high 21 of them. She also led the Purple Knights with 31 assists. Drollinger ranks first in the CACC in both total assists and assists per set this season.
Lucia Tomiello joined Hernandez and Presswood in double figures with 10 putaways in the match. She also led UB in both aces (3) and blocks (6).
As a team, Bridgeport piled up a season-high 15 blocks and hammered eight aces.
