Annagrazia Bonsanti Selected To 2018 Second Team National Google Cloud Women’s At-Large Academic All-America Team Selected By CoSIDA
Selection Is UB's Tenth All-Time National Academic All-America Recognition
Bridgeport, Conn.-University of Bridgeport senior All-American, swimmer Annagrazia Bonsanti (Caracas, Venezuela) has earned a spot on the 2018 Second Team National Google Cloud Women's At-Large Academic All-America Team selected by CoSIDA (The College Sports Information Directors Association of America).
The 2017-18 University of Bridgeport Female Student-Athlete of the Year, Annagrazia posted a 3.93 grade point average as a Health Sciences major during her stellar and record-setting UB career in the pool.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
Members of the At-Large teams come from the sports of Women's Beach Volleyball Women's Bowling, Women's Crew/Rowing, Men's and Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Men's and Women's Ice Hockey, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Rifle, Men's and Women's Skiing, Men's and Women's Swimming, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Water Polo plus Men's Wrestling.
The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams.
Bonsanti's selection marks the tenth all-time national Academic All-America selection from the University of Bridgeport joining softball's Cathleen Meaden (Second Team in 1993), women's soccer's Julia Hansson (Second Team in 2012 and First Team in 2013), women's soccer's Tabea Rauschenberger (Second Team in 2014), men's swimming Ruben Gimenez (First Team and National Division II Men's At-Large Academic All-America of the Year in 2014 and 2015), men's swimming Oscar Pereiro (Second Team in 2014), women's volleyball Ying Shen (Third Team in 2014) and women's gymnastics Christine Liautaud (Third Team in 2016).
