Women's Soccer Blanks Post, 6-0, in Regular Season Finale

WATERBURY, Conn. – In the final game of the 2024 regular season, the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team earned a 6-0 win at Post on Thursday afternoon. The Purple Knights will now enter the postseason with an overall record of 7-8-3 (6-5, CACC).
Bridgeport's dominance against the Eagles started exactly one minute into the contest. The Purple Knights immediately earned a corner kick that was sent in by Melike Dincel and then finished off by Jayven Howarth amongst a scrum in front of the net.
Howarth struck again just four minutes later as Bridgeport's onslaught really began. She put the finishing touches on an open net courtesy of a beautiful cross from Brooke Boucher.
In addition to the two goals, Howarth also dished out an assist to finish the game with a career-high five points.
With UB up 2-0 in the first five minutes of the game, four more Purple Knights found the back of the net before halftime.
Tatianna Lizarraga, Chloe Oudin, Luiza Macedo and Ellen Lundeberg all put their names in the scoring column. UB's six goals in the game tied a season high.
Boucher, meanwhile, recorded two more assists as she continues to lead the Purple Knights in points this season with 21 (4th, CACC). She is also now tied atop the CACC with seven assists.
Sophomore goalkeeper Antia Lopez picked up the win in net after playing a scoreless first half. Sky Hernandez and Helena Dahlstrom also saw action between the pipes.
