BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – It was a joyous Senior Day for the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team as the Purple Knights earned a 4-2 win against Chestnut Hill College on Saturday. The win improves UB's record to 4-6-3 overall, including 3-3 in the CACC.
The Purple Knights jumped all over the Griffins en route to their third conference victory of the season. UB scored the game's first three goals before adding a fourth tally late in the contest.
After being honored pregame during the senior day festivities, Leigh-Ann Ramsay served as one of the stars for UB. She is now Bridgeport's leading scorer this season after totaling two goals and an assist on Saturday.
Ramsay provided UB with a 1-0 edge in the 18th minute before adding another tally in the 50th. She also assisted on the Purple Knights' final goal which was the first career tally scored by freshman Lily Rodriguez.
Another pregame honoree was Kristi Jazdzewski, who notched a goal and an assist in the contest. After her sensational ball led to Ramsay's first goal, she put the Purple Knights up 2-0 with her own tally in the 26th minute.
Melike Dincel and Brooke Boucher also picked up assists on Saturday as all four of Bridgeport's goals had helpers attached to them.
On the defensive side of the ball, sophomore goalkeeper Angelina Griva picked up the win in net. The Greece native finished with nine saves which is her second highest total of the year.
In fitting fashion, UB's 2024 senior class finished the game with three goals and four assists.
