Women's Soccer Picks Up 3-0 Win At Philadelphia University

Philadelphia, Penn.-Three different players scored goals as the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team posted a 3-0 non-conference road win over the Philadelphia University Lady Rams on Sunday afternoon. The victory, UB's third in a row, lifts the Purple Knights overall record to 3-1-0 on the season. Philadelphia is now 1-1-2 on the year.
Freshman Berglind Bjarnadottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) got the Purple Knights on the scoreboard at the 21:53 mark of the match, as she tallied her second goal of the season,
With the score 1-0 entering the second half, junior Kasey Kenny (Staten Island, N.Y.) extebded UB's lead to 2-0 with her first goal in a Bridgeport uniform, 14 minutes into the second stanza.
Junior Katie Stanley (Oxon, England) completed the scoring in the contest when she converted a penalty kick in the 66th minute.
Bridgeport freshman goalkeeper Julia Hansson (Tocksfors, Sweden) made four saves to record her second consecutive clean sheet.
The Purple Knights will look to extend their winning strak to four when they travel to Delaware on Thursday afternoon to face Wilmington University.
