BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing their final non-conference contest of the season, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team was defeated by Roberts Wesleyan on Sunday by a score of 21-5. The loss shifts the Purple Knights' record to 5-6 overall this season.
Tereza Kreuzova and Max McDermott supplied the majority of UB's offense with two goals apiece while Cassidy Dalton also found the back of the net.
McDermott, who leads Bridgeport in total points (51) this season, surpassed 100 career goals with her two tallies on Sunday.
Another milestone was recorded by goalkeeper Jackie Mellia, who eclipsed 500 career stops. She now has 507 saves while starting every single one of Bridgeport's games during her career.
UB's other statistical leaders on Sunday included Tara Dimaio and Kaley Maxwell each finishing with two caused turnovers while Elizabeth Pitts picked up a team-high five draw controls.
Dimaio, who now has 100 career CTs, continues to lead the CACC in both caused turnovers (2.64) and ground balls (3.55) per game this season.
