Women's Lacrosse Defeated at Jefferson to Move to 1-1 in CACC Play
Purple Knights drop first road conference game.
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Playing on the road in conference play for the first time this season, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team endured an 18-4 defeat at Jefferson on Saturday. The loss puts the Purple Knights at 1-1 in the CACC this season (2-4 overall).
UB's offense was supplied by three different goal scorers. Tereza Kreuzova notched a pair of tallies while Max McDermott and Tara Dimaio both found the back of the net as well.
Kreuzova is UB's leader in both goals (19) and total points (20) this season.
Emily Stuart was also once again a standout performer with seven draw controls for the second straight game. She added two ground balls and two caused turnovers as well.
Speaking of caused turnovers, Samantha Targonski recorded a team-best three of them to go along with three ground balls and two draw controls.
Bridgeport goalkeeper Jackie Mellia finished with 11 stops in the loss. She also led UB with five ground balls.
Jefferson posted a 6-2 opening quarter before stretching their lead to 11-3 at halftime. The Rams went on to score the first four goals of the second half as well.
