Huge Fourth Quarter Lifts Women's Lacrosse Past Post, 21-12
Tara Dimaio finished with nine points (7G, 2A) and eight caused turnovers.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Fueled by a season-high goal total, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team enjoyed a 21-12 win over Post on Tuesday. The home victory pushes the Purple Knights' record to 8-3 this season (3-2, CACC).
Tied 11-11 after three quarters, Bridgeport closed the game with a 10-1 stretch. The Purple Knights scored eight straight tallies across the final 11:37 of regulation.
Tara Dimaio continued her sensational sophomore season with another terrific performance. The Long Island native rattled off nine points off seven goals and two assists. She contributed four of her tallies in the fourth quarter.
Dimaio was also terrific on the defensive side of the ball. She piled up a career-high eight caused turnovers and grabbed five ground balls.
The Kreitler sisters joined in with stellar efforts of their own. Danielle Kreitler put in five goals while Megan Kreitler combined two goals with three assists.
Max McDermott also put forth five points. She finished the contest with two goals and three assists.
Tereza Kreuzova and Emily Stuart registered multiple points of their own with Kreuzova posting two goals and two assists and Stuart dishing out three assists.
In net, Jacklyn Mellia picked up her eighth win of the season. She finished with 11 saves to signify her fourth game this year with double-digit stops.
