BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In the midst of massive gusts of winds and torrential rain, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team dropped a 15-6 contest to Dominican on Wednesday. The loss shifts the Purple Knights' record to 6-3 this season, including 1-2 in the CACC.
Bridgeport's six goals were supplied by six different players.
Tara Dimaio, Tereza Kreuzova and Elizabeth Pitts all found the back of the net in the first half as Dominican led 7-3 at the break.
After a scoreless third quarter, Max McDermott, Megan Kreitler, and Cassidy Dalton all notched goals in the final frame.
Pitts also dished out an assist to finish with a team-high two points.
Collectively, the Purple Knights finished the game with a 13-10 advantage in draw controls. Emily Stuart picked up a team-high four.
Defensively, Bridgeport earned 14 caused turnovers while Jacklyn Mellia tallied six saves in net.
UB had 10 different players record at least one caused turnover in the game.
