Bridgeport, Conn.-University of Bridgeport junior Julia Ruscio (St, Catherine, Ontario, Canada) scored three goals to raise her team-high season total to 25, and sophomore Jessica Kinser (Voorhees, N.J.) had a four point day with two goals and two assists, but the UB women's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the 2020 season on Wednesday afternoon at home, as the Purple Knights fell in a non-conference game to Southern New Hampshire, 15-9. Bridgeport is now 3-1 on the season, and SNHU ups its season mark to 2-1.
Four other Purple Knights, seniors Courtney Hylock (Muskegon, Mich.) and Barbara Orsini (N. Babylon, N.Y.) plus junior Shyla Murray (Brentwood, N.Y.) and sophomore Hannah McDermott (Guilford, Conn.) found the back of the net once on the afternoon.
Bridgeport senior goalkeeper Cheyanne Gangel (Oakridge, N.J.) made 16 saves on the day facing 38 shots. She has now surpassed 500 saves for her career.
Kelsey Long and Merry Harrington each had six goals for the winners.
