Flushing, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team played its final road game of the 2016 season on Thursday afternoon at Queens (N.Y.) College, as the Purple Knights fell to the host Knights, 10-3. UB trailed by only one goal, 4-3, at the half, but UB was held scoreless in the final 30 minutes of action. With the loss, the Purple Knights are now 5-9 overall and 1-6 in East Coast Conference play. QC is now 7-8 overall and also 1-6 in the ECC.
Junior Rebecca Rieg (Long Valley, N.J.) had two goals for Bridgeport on the day, and freshman Alexis Malvaso (Jordan, N.Y.) had the other goal for the Purple Knights.
Senior goalkeeper Megan Carney (Norwalk, Conn.) made 14 saves for UB.
Up next, the Bridgeport women's lacrosse team closes out its 2016 schedule on Saturday night at home versus St. Thomas Aquinas College. Senior Night action is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Knights Field.
