Gymnastics Advances to Team Finals of WCGNIC
Purple Knights post second-place score of 193.325 to advance to team finals.
SHREVEPORT, La. – Competing in the team semifinals of the inaugural Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship, the University of Bridgeport posted a score of 193.325 on Friday in Shreveport, La. UB's mark was high enough to finish second and advance the Purple Knights to the team finals on Saturday night.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
Abby Kenney put together a trio of top-five finishes en route to placing third in the all-around. Kenney's AA total of 38.950 signified her fourth highest of the year.
Amid the performances, Kenney tallied a pair of 9.8's on both floor and beam to tie for second in each of the events. She also boasted a 9.725 on bars to finish third while her 9.625 on vault was good for ninth.
Nova Staruk, Lola Sepulveda and Maggie Coyle also tallied top-five efforts on Friday night.
Staruk placed third on vault with a 9.750 while Sepulveda finished fifth in the same event courtesy of a 9.700. Coyle, meanwhile, tied for second with Kenney on floor. They each rattled off a 9.800.
Sepulveda supplemented her vault finish with a terrific tally on floor (9.750) to place seventh.
Five more Purple Knights registered top-10 finishes on Friday.
Samantha Krenzel and Olivia Imbarlina tied for ninth on beam (9.725) while Imbarlina also tied with Nicole Pujals on bars (9.625) to come in eighth.
Emily Hernandez and Tamyra Singletary both performed well on vault. Hernandez earned a sixth-place (9.675) distinction while Singletary posted an eighth-place (9.650) effort.

The Purple Knights will compete in the WCGNIC Team Finals tomorrow night at the Gold Dome. Action will begin at 8 p.m. EST.
