Gymnastics' Kenney Named WCGA Regular Season All-American for Second Straight Year
Tallied an all-around NQS of 38.920 which ranked second in all of Division II gymnastics.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In recognition of an outstanding junior campaign, Abby Kenney of the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team has been named a 2025 WCGA Regular Season All-American. She was tabbed to the Second Team in the all-around for the second straight year.
Kenney has been superb for a Bridgeport squad that finished a program-best third at the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Championships on March 22. She earned her All-America status courtesy of an NQS of 38.920 which ranked second in all of Division II gymnastics.
Kenney, who earned a remarkable five All-GEC accolades, supplied her season-best all-around at LIU where she totaled a 39.075. She tallied a season-best mark on vault (9.775) that day. Kenney's other season-high scores include a 9.825 on floor (1/12), a 9.875 on beam (2/2) and a 9.775 on bars (2/9).
In addition to the high scores, Kenney's sensational season also features being tabbed GEC Gymnast of the Week twice and winning the all-around across seven different meets.
Kenney and the rest of UB's gymnastics team will return to action at the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship (WCGNIC) on April 11-13 in Shreveport, La.
