Kelli Tereshko And Thomara Powell-Brown Earn Weekly ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Awards

Danbury, Conn.-Two members of the University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team, graduate student Kelli Tereshko (Madison, Indiana) and senior Thomara Powell-Brown (Rocky Hill, Conn.), have earned weekly DII awards from the ECAC for their outstanding performances in the Purple Knights' two meets last weekend.

Tereshko earned this week's ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Specialist of the Week awards, and Powell-Brown received this week's Coaches Choice honor.

Last weekend, Tereshko posted her two best floor performances of the season. Floor is a new event for talented competitor and in a two-meet weekend she scored a 9.675 and a 9.7 She also had back-to-back 9.825 performances on the uneven bars for the Purple Knights.

Powell-Brown had a great senior weekend having two of her best performances of her career. On Friday night she scored a 9.775 on the uneven bars. She followed that up on Saturday with an even better uneven bars performance and score with a 9.825.

This week, the UB women's gymnastics team will be in action at Southern Connecticut State on Saturday and at Brown on Sunday.
