UB Finishes In Fourth Place At University of Arizona Women's Gymnastics Meet

Tucson, Arizona-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team took fourth place in a quad meet hosted by the University of Arizona on Saturday evening.  The host Wildcats won the event with a team score of 196.450.  BYU was second with a total of 196.025 points.  Texas Women's University was third with 194.575 points, and the Purple Knights were fourth with a total of 193.675 points.

Senior Lissette La Fex (Diamond Bar, California) took fourth in Saturday's all-around with a score of 38.000 in the four events.  She was the team's top finisher on the bars tying for fourth place with a score of 9,825.

Senior Melissa Doucette (Somersworth, N.H.) was the top Bridgeport finisher on the vault with a score of 9.825 which put her in a seventh place tie.

Freshman Hope Tralli (Croton-On-Hudson, N.Y.) topped the Purple nights on the beam with a score of 9.750 which put her in eighth place.

Junior Caitlin Perry (N. Kingston, R.I.) was UB best finisher in the floor exercise with a score of 9.825, putting her in tenth place.

The UB gymnastics team is back in action at home on Thursday night when they host Yale University at 6:00 p.m. on Senior Night.
