BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In the second of two home games this week, the University of Bridgeport's women's basketball team was defeated by Georgian Court on Saturday by a score of 67-57.
Shakira Hester served as UB's offensive leader with 17 points. She also added six rebounds, three steals and three assists.
Defensively, Harmony Earth-Wiley tallied a game-high and career-best six steals while also grabbing five rebounds. She also ranked second on the squad with eight points.
Like Earth-Wiley, freshman Savannah Prescott also performed well off the bench with seven points. Ana Gascon and Niyah Whitten finished with seven points in the contest as well.
As a team, Bridgeport forced 25 GCU turnovers and collected 12 steals. The Purple Knights' offense finished 20-of-56 from the field, 3-for-11 from long range and 14-of-29 from the free-throw line.
