PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Starting a stretch of 14 consecutive conference games, the University of Bridgeport's women's basketball team dropped a 77-56 matchup at Chestnut Hill College on Saturday. The loss shifts the Purple Knights' record to 1-2 in the CACC this season.
UB was led by a pair of 13-point scorers in senior Shakira Hester and freshman Zahkiyyah Frazier. Frazier also finished the game with a season-high 15 rebounds (eight offensive) to signify her first career double-double. Frazier's stat line featured a pair of blocks as well.
Ana Gascon knocked in Bridgeport's lone three-pointer (1-for-11) in the contest en route to seven points, five rebounds and two steals.
Junior Niyah Whitten also served as a statistical leader for UB with a team-best three assists.
Bridgeport's offense posted totals of 21-of-60 from the field, 1-for-11 from three-point range and 13-of-21 from the free-throw line.
Chestnut Hill, meanwhile, made 10 of its 20 attempts from three-point range.
The Purple Knights picked up 26 points off the bench while also outrebounding CHC by one board. Bridgeport nabbed 12 offensive rebounds in the game.
