Bridgeport Women Scrap All Game Long But Fall To Daemen At Home
Wildcats Top The Purple Knights, 87-65, As Jaqualah Holliman And Gracen Kerr Each Net 17 Points
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team put forth a scrappy against one of the top teams in the East Coast Conference on Friday at home, but the Purple Knights came up short versus the Daemen College Wildcats, 87-65. UB is now 4-18 overall and 2-8 in the ECC. Daemen ups it overall mark to 17-3, and the Wildcats are now 9-1 in conference action.
On Friday, the Purple Knights just could not overcome a slow start as they trailed 29-14 after the first quarter, and Daemen scored 30 points off 19 UB turnovers and also grabbed 16 offensive rebounds.
Senior Jaqualah Holliman (Boston, Mass.) and freshman Gracen Kerr (Ansonia, Conn.) led Bridgeport in scoring with 17 points apiece. Kerr also had eight assists and two steals on the night.
UB senior Kyle Felton (Lithonia, Ga.) led the Purple Knights' on the glass with eight rebounds, and she also netted eight points.
Caroline White led a balanced Daemen attack that saw all five starters reach double figures with 21 points.
