Women's Hoops Drops 75-57 Conference Decision At C.W. Post

Brookville, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team opened the 2012 portion of its 2011-12 schedule with a 75-67 East Coast Conference loss at C.W. Post on Wednesday evening.  With the loss, UB is now 3-10 overall and 1-2 in ECC play.  C.W. Post raises its overall mark to 9-5, and the Pioneers are now also 1-2 in conference play.

Seniors Edna Marant (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Julia Colley (Harlow, England) led the Bridgeport offense with 16 points apiece.  Colley also finished with a double-double, as she grabbed 10 rebounds.

CWP was led by Catherine Lutz who also scored 16 points.

Bridgeport was cold from the floor all night long as the Purple Knights connected on only 19 of 67 field goals (28.4%), including going only 2 of 14 from three-point range.

UB will look to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon at Queens (N.Y.) College.
