Elinor Avny Selected As ECC Women's Basketball Player Of The Week
Averaged 23.0 Points Per Game In A Pair Of UB Wins Last Week

Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport senior guard Elinor Avny (Raanaana, Israel) has been selected as the East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her outstanding play in a pair of UB wins last week. This is the second time this season that Elinor has received ECC Player of the Week honors.
Last week, Avny helped the Purple Knights go a perfect 2-0 on the week by averaging 23.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. She opened the week with a 16-point performance in a win over Mercy and then closed the week out with a career-high 30 points in a 68-60 win over Molloy. In the win over Molloy, Elnor scored her team's final 10 points, including back-to-back three-pointers that broke a 58-58 tie with 2:35 to play. On the week, she hit 14 of 31 total field goals and connected on 52.4 percent of her three-point shots (11 of 21). Avny also contributed six total assists and six total steals in the two UB wins. On the season, Elinor is averaging 13.5 points per game and leads the Purple Knights with 67 made three-pointers.
