Softball's Oros Named CACC Player of the Week
Batted .692 last week with six RBIs and three walks.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following a dominant stretch at the dish last week, Angela Oros of the University of Bridgeport's softball team was selected as the CACC's Player of the Week on Monday. She joins Kaite Burawski (Pitcher of the Week) as UB's two conference weekly award winners this season.
Oros went a team-best 9-for-13 (.692) with six RBIs and three walks during UB's four contests last week. She provided three of those hits—a pair of doubles and a home run—in Bridgeport's 6-5 win over Wilmington on Saturday. All in all, she piled up a terrific 16 total bases last week and scored three runs.
Oros has been red hot to begin this 2025 season. She currently ranks fourth in the CACC in batting average (.421), third in on-base percentage (.492) and third in slugging percentage (.632). She is also in the top-five in hits, RBIs and doubles.
UB's softball team returns to action on Wednesday with a home doubleheader against Bloomfield (2:30 p.m.).
