ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – Playing another non-conference doubleheader on the road, the University of Bridgeport's softball team dropped a pair of games to Molloy University on Saturday.
GAME ONE – Molloy 9, Bridgeport 1 (Six Innings)
Leading 1-0 after four innings, the Purple Knights were unable to seal the deal. Molloy scored two runs in the fifth and seven more in the sixth.
Samantha Schiebe knocked in UB's lone run with an RBI double in the first inning. Angela Oros scored on the play after reaching on a single to center.
After notching three hits in the opening frame, Bridgeport only mustered two more singles the rest of the way.
GAME TWO – Molloy 10, Bridgeport 5
The second game of the day was highlighted by a pair of home runs and five different run producers.
Oros and Isabella Benjamin each hit solo home runs as they continue to lead the team in that category. Oros has now registered four long balls this season while Benjamin has three.
Benjamin also walked three times while Oros and Hailey Kim each tallied a team-high two hits.
Vise Zarate pitched well in the finale. The right-hander allowed just one run in 3.1 innings of work.
