PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Following four straight conference wins, the University of Bridgeport's softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games at Pace University on Sunday. The Purple Knights were defeated 5-0 in the first contest and 4-0 in the finale.
Vise Zarate pitched well in a tight second game. The right-hander allowed just three earned runs on five hits across six innings of work.
After UB went hitless in the opener, the Purple Knights registered five knocks in the second game. Junior Isabella Benjamin went 2-for-3 with a double, UB's only extra-base hit.
Madison D'Amato, Angela Oros, and Hailey Kim all tallied singles in the second game.
Bridgeport initiated six walks in the first game of the day.
