Softball Opens ECC Schedule By Dropping Two At Molloy

Rockville Centre, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport softball team opened its 2012 East Coast Conference scheduled on Tuesday afternoon at Molloy College, and the Purple Knights were shut out twice, losing game one, 8-0 in five innings, and losing game two, 5-0.  UB is now 5-8 overall and 0-2 in the ECC.  Molly raises its record to 8-5 overall and 2-0 in conference action.

In game one, Molloy's Kelley Jansen fired a no-hitter in which she struck out nine and walked one.

In game two, Bridgeport's Jessica Griesinger (Fr., Brewster, N.Y.) and Emma Wojcik (Sr., Warsaw, Poland) each banged out two hits, one of which Wojcik was a triple.

The UB softball team is back in action at home on Thursday afternoon versus Dowling College in an ECC matchup.  Action at DeLuca Filed in Stratford begins at 3:00 p.m.
