Cross Country Teams Compete At NJIT's Highlander XC Challenge
Men Take 15th Place-Women Take 14th Place On The Day
Newark, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport cross country teams took part in their second meet of the 2014 season on Saturday at the Highlander XC Challenge hosted by NJIT. The UB women finished 14th out of 20 teams, and the Bridgeport men's squad finished 15th out of 19 squads.
For the Bridgeport women, newcomer, sophomore Emily Riehl (Trumbull, Conn.) was the Purple Knights' top finisher covering the 5K course in a time of 22:27.87 which was good for 61st scoring place.
On the men's side, senior Naqwan Crowell (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) was the team's top finisher with a time of 30:47.70 over the 8K course which put him in 62nd scoring place.
The Bridgeport cross country teams are back in action next Saturday at the Westfield (Mass.) State Invitational.
