Edoardo Vandelli Named CACC Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week
Clocked fastest 800-meter time in the east region this past weekend.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following UB's first meet of the outdoor season, freshman Edoardo Vandelli of the University of Bridgeport's men's track and field team has been named the CACC's Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week.
Coming off a standout indoor campaign, Vandelli continued the momentum at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational over the weekend in Lynchburg, Va. The native of Italy clocked a mark of 1:53.24 in the 800-meter which currently sits as the fastest time in the East Region this season (36th in the country). He also helped UB establish a school record in the 4x400 relay, finishing with a 51.26 anchor leg.
Vandelli and the rest of Bridgeport's track and field squads will return to action this weekend at the Jim Sheehan Invitational at Fitchburg State.
