Track and Field Concludes Indoor Season at Fasttrack Last Chance Invitational
Purple Knights now set their sights on the outdoor season.
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Seeing action for the final time this indoor season, the University of Bridgeport's track and field teams competed at the Fasttrack Last Chance Invitational on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Men's Recap
Numerous strong performances piloted the Purple Knights on the men's side.
Amongst the standout efforts was Dante Lingley finishing 10th (6.98) in the 60-meter dash while Matt Torres placed fifth with a PR in the 500-meter (1:14.96).
Nick Migliarese, meanwhile, posted a 13th-place time in the 60-hurdles (10.81) before tossing 10th in the weight throw (11.74m).
John Panzera also took part in multiple events on Friday, finishing 43rd in the 200-meter (23.81-PR) and third in the high jump (1.89m).
Marvin Fenwick, Jr. capped off his first indoor season with a pair of formidable marks. The rookie placed 20th in the long jump (6.06m) and ninth in the triple jump (11.77m).
Women's Recap
Four top-20 finishers led the way for UB on the women's side.
A pair of distance runners recorded PRs for the Purple Knights in the 1,000-meter. Julia Fortune posted a sixth-place time (3:26.84) while Stephanie Lickteig finished right behind her teammate in seventh (3:33.98).
On the sprinting side of things, Kara Sampath placed 15th (27.43) in the 200-meter while Abety Kivagheni finished 23rd (28.61-indoor PR) in the same event.
Speaking of Kivagheni, she led a group of six Purple Knights in the 60-meter with a 20th-place effort (8.65).
