PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – In the final game of the regular season, the University of Bridgeport's men's lacrosse team was defeated at Chestnut Hill College on Wednesday by a score of 16-6. The Purple Knights enter their first postseason with a record of 7-7, including a 4-4 mark in the CACC.
The Griffins led wire-to-wire on Wednesday night, including a 4-2 edge after the first quarter, a 7-2 lead at halftime and a 12-4 advantage after three frames.
Daniel Orebiyi led the UB offense with a pair of goals while James Goodrich, Daniel Bartolomei, Matthew Levantini and Aidan Kirkpatrick all added a tally apiece.
James Napoli led the Purple Knights with a pair of assists while Levantini also dished out a helper.
Connor Cullen won 18-of-25 face-offs and grabbed a game-high 11 ground balls.
Bridgeport forced Chestnut Hill's goalkeeper to make 17 saves in the game while UB's Peter Nazario tallied 13 stops. The Purple Knights put 23 shots on goal.
