BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In their penultimate home game of the regular season, the University of Bridgeport's men's lacrosse team posted a 21-9 win over Caldwell on Saturday night. The victory pushes the Purple Knights' record to 6-6 this season (3-3, CACC).
For the second straight game, Bridgeport scored 20-plus goals and allowed single-digit goals. The Purple Knights have now won three games this season by at least 12 tallies.
James Napoli led the way with an eight-point night. The Long Island native finished with two goals and a career-high six assists.
Dewey Schoenfelder nearly matched Napoli's output courtesy of four tallies and three assists while Aidan Kirkpatrick poured in a team-high five goals.
James Goodrich, Daniel Orebiyi and Ashton Lankowski also notched multiple goals in the game with Orebiyi getting the hat trick.
Connor Cullen sparked the Purple and White from the face-off spot. The sophomore won 27 of his 33 encounters with a career-high 17 ground balls.
Senior goalkeeper Peter Nazario was once again a wall in net. The team captain racked up 14 stops in the game to secure his seventh double-digit save performance of the season.
Collectively, the Purple Knights piled up a 40-15 edge in ground balls while rattling off a season-high 25 clears.
