Men's Lacrosse Dominates Felician, 25-2
The Purple Knights scored at least five goals in each quarter and led 13-2 at halftime.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Highlighted by a program record for goals, the University of Bridgeport's men's lacrosse team tallied a 25-2 win over Felician on Wednesday night. The decisive victory pushes the Purple Knights' record to 5-6 this season.
It was season highs all around for UB in a dominant triumph. The Purple Knights scored at least five goals in each quarter and led 13-2 at halftime. They also earned a 39-15 advantage in ground balls and allowed just two goals for the second time this season.
Individually, James Napoli led the way with a terrific stat line. The Long Islander poured in six goals and two assists to finish with a game-high eight points.
Napoli continues to lead UB in both goals (24) and points (39) this season.
Aidan Kirkpatrick matched Napoli's six tallies in the win while Daniel Orebiyi finished with a hat trick. James Goodrich, Darien Fray, and Dewey Schoenfelder each finished with two goals apiece.
In addition to the gaudy offensive numbers, UB dominated defensively as well. Goalkeeper Peter Nazario piled up 13 saves in just three quarters of work.
Connor Cullen, meanwhile, was stellar as UB's main face-off guy. The Long Island native grabbed a team-high eight ground balls while winning 16-of-24 face-offs.
UB finished with 17 caused turnovers while turning the ball over themselves a season-low 14 times.
