LAKEWOOD, N.J. – In their penultimate road conference game of the season, the University of Bridgeport's men's lacrosse team (4-6, 1-3) dropped an 11-10 contest at Georgian Court on Tuesday.
In a game that featured six ties and neither team going ahead by more than two goals, it was the Lions scoring the final two goals to eke out the win.
With the contest tied 5-5 going into halftime, UB gained its first edge (8-7) of the game at the 3:31 mark of the third quarter. Georgian Court went on to lead 9-8 after three quarters before earning the win in the fourth.
Bridgeport's attack featured four different two-goal scorers and eight different point-getters.
Daniel Orebiyi, Matthew Levantini, James Napoli, and Dewey Schoenfelder all found the back of the net twice.
Schoenfelder and Levantini also each dished out an assist to tie for the team lead in points.
Georgian Court's goalkeeper saved the home squad with 18 saves in the game. Bridgeport posted a 28-19 advantage in shots on goal.
On the other side, UB's Peter Nazario finished with eight stops to up his total to 104 this season.
Sean Napoli led the Purple Knights with six ground balls in the game.
