Men's Basketball Bested at Saint Anselm, 107-99
Purple Knights' record moves to 6-6.
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Playing one final time prior to their holiday break, the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball team dropped a 107-99 contest at Saint Anselm College on Saturday. The loss puts the Purple Knights' overall record at 6-6 this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After UB took its first lead of the game at 19-18, Saint Anselm posted a 20-7 run in the first half to build up a 12-point edge at the 7:17 mark. The Hawks were then able to stretch their lead to as many as 17 points early in the second half.
UB, meanwhile, continued fighting and battled until the very end. A 24-10 stretch from the Purple Knights trimmed the Saint Anselm lead to just 80-77 with 8:09 remaining in regulation.
Following a timeout, the Hawks once again strengthened their lead. Saint Anselm answered UB with a 12-3 spurt across 4:04 of game time that ended nearly all hope for a Bridgeport comeback win.
