PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In a matchup of two of the top teams in the region thus far, the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball team dropped an 87-67 contest at Pace University on Saturday. The loss puts the Purple Knights' record at 4-2 this year.
Bridgeport, coming off a big road win at STAC earlier this week, trailed for pretty much the entire game on Saturday. The Setters shot 31-of-57 (54.4%) from the field, including 8-for-17 from long range. They also knocked in 17 free throws.
The Purple Knights, meanwhile, turned in season lows in almost every statistic. UB shot 22-for-59 (37.3%) from the field and 6-of-21 from three-point land while turning the ball over 23 times.

Individually, it was a trio of double-figure scorers that led Bridgeport's offense. Caleb Jacobs put in a team-high 15 points (5-for-6 FG) while Aliou Cisse and Justin Hendrick chipped in 13 and 10 respectively.
Cisse led UB with seven rebounds and tied with two other players for the team lead in steals with two. Cisse is now averaging 23.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest this season.
After the three in double figures, Nick Traill and Gabe Charleston each added seven points.
