Men's Basketball Wins at STAC, 101-98
Aliou Cisse finished with a game-high 37 points.
SPARKILL, N.Y. – Coming off their first loss of the 2024-25 season, the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball team responded with a 101-98 win at STAC on Tuesday night. The high-scoring triumph puts the Purple Knights' record at 4-1 this year.
Aliou Cisse, won entered the night as the CACC's leading scorer, was once again sensational against the Spartans. The junior transfer poured in a game-high 37 points on 14-of-20 shooting from the field.
Cisse also finished the game with seven rebounds, two blocks and two assists. Cisse is now posting averages of 25.6 points and 6.2 rebounds while shooting over 60-percent from the field.
In addition to Cisse, three other Purple Knights finished in double figures on Tuesday.
Senior guard Nick Traill led that trio with 19 points and five assists while Caleb Jacobs added 12 points and a team-high six helpers.
Jason Edokpayi served as UB's final double-digit scorer with 14 points. He also logged six boards and a team-high three blocks.
Collectively, the Purple Knights shot a season-best 36-of-69 (52.2%) from the field. They also put forth a season-high eight blocks.
Through five games this season, Bridgeport is averaging 94.2 points per contest which ranks No. 1 in the CACC and top-15 in the country. The Purple Knights also sit second in the CACC in both blocked shots (28) and assists (86) this season.
