BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – Going on the road for the first time in two weeks, the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball team dropped a 90-80 contest at Bloomfield College on Wednesday night.
Following a halftime tie (40-40), and an even score at 68 apiece, it was an 11-0 spurt from Bloomfield late in the second half that served as the difference. The Bears' run provided a 79-70 lead at the 4:14 mark, which served as just enough cushion to close out the game.
It was another balanced attack for the Purple Knights as their entire starting five scored at least eight points each, with four in double figures.
Individually, senior D'Andre Collins was sensational for Bridgeport. The New Jersey native stuffed the stat sheet with a line of 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists (season high), three steals and two blocks.

Graduate student Sam DeSouza rounded out Bridgeport's double-figure scorers with 12 points.
Collectively, the Purple Knights racked up 12 steals and 16 assists in the game. They also shot 30-for-81 (37%) from the field, including 11-of-30 (36.6%) from long range.
