Men's Basketball Falls To Molloy In ECC Play
Purple Knghts Back In Action At LIU Post On Wednesday Nightt
Rockville Centre, N.Y.-It was a tough Saturday afternoon on Long Island for the University of Bridgeport men's basketball team, as the Purple Knights fell to the host Molloy College Lions, 107-89, on a snowy Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Bridgeport is now 7-8 overall and 3-3 in East Coast Conference play. Molly ups is season mark to 8-7 overall, and the Lions are now 4-2 in conference play.
On Saturday, the host Lions, who shot 56.7 percent (34-of-60) from the floor on the day, raced out to a 57-38 halftime advantage and never looked back.
Junior Sam Joseph (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led UB in scoring with 22 points. He was joined in double figures by sophomore Rakim Lesane (Coney Island, N.Y.) with 16 points, and senior Stefano Osuji (Voorhees, N.J.) with 10 points. Lesane finished with a double-double grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds.
Molloy's Charlie Marquardt led all scorers on the afternoon with 26 points.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team will look to snap a six-game losing streak when they return to Long Island to face LIU Post on Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
