Men's Basketball Sees Seven-Game Winning Streak Snapped At Daemen
UB Falls, 75-66, Will Close Out Regular Season At Home Versus UDC Next Saturday
Amherst, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team saw its seven-game winning streak come to end on Saturday afternoon as the Daemen College Wildcats extended their home court winning streak to 35 consecutive games with a hard-fought, 75-66, East Coast Conference win over the Purple Knights. With the loss, UB is now 15-10 overall and 13-6 in the ECC. Daemen is now 20-6 overall and 17-3 in conference action.
Senior Ivan Simic (Belgrade, Serbia) led Bridgeport with 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Ernest Rouse (Freeport, N.Y.) contributed 14 points off the Purple Knights' bench.
Daemen's Casey Sheehan led all scorers on the afternoon with 24 points. Sheehan's teammate Gerald Beverly has a double-double for the Wildcats with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
The UB men's basketball team will now close out the 2013-14 regular season at home on Saturday, March 1 when the Purple Knights host the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds. Action is slated to begin in Hubbell Gym at 3:00 p.m.
