Men's Basketball Tops Goldey-Beacom, 75-68, For Second Straight Victory
Senior Dante Menter Leads UB With 17 Points
Wilmington, Del.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team won back-to-back games for the first time this season, as the Purple Knights picked up a 75-68 road non-conference win over the host Goldey-Beacom College Lightning on Saturday. With the victory, UB is now 3-2 on the season. The Lightning falls to 1-3 on the year.
Senior Dante Menter (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led four Bridgeport players in double-figure scoring with 17 points.
Dante was joined in double figure by junior Hakeem Rodriguez (Queensbridge, N.Y) with 15 points, and seniors Eion Lewis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and William Harrison (Bronx, N.Y.) each netted 11 points for the winners.
GBC's Marcus Porter led all scorers in the contest with 22 points.
The Purple Knights shot the ball well on the day connecting on 31-of 60 shots (51.7%). UB scored 40 of its 75 points on the day in the paint with 16 points coming on second chance efforts.
Bridgeport is quickly back in action, as the Purple Knights will travel to Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia tomorrow afternoon. Action tips-off at 3:00 p.m.
